This Black History Month, we are proud to spotlight a series of meaningful events that celebrate Black excellence while fostering important conversations about justice, inclusion, and equity within the legal system. Through a combination of education and in-person connection, these events invite members of the bench, bar, and broader community to come together in reflection and action.
Free CLE Webinar: Seat at the Table – Building Fairer Juries Through Inclusion
As part of our Black History Month programming, we are hosting a FREE CLE webinar that takes a critical look at jury selection and the role inclusion plays in achieving justice.
Date: Tuesday, February 24
Time: 1:00–2:00 PM
CLE Credit: 1 Diversity CLE Credit
This timely program will explore the history, ethics, and future of jury selection, examining how bias, access, and inclusion shape who gets to serve—and who is excluded—in the pursuit of justice.
Featured Speakers:
-
Hon. Shirley Troutman, Associate Judge, New York State Court of Appeals

Their insights will guide a thoughtful discussion on building fairer, more representative juries and ensuring every voice has a seat at the table.
