The Academy is celebrating its community of over 5000 attorneys and legal professionals across the state, representing plaintiffs and defendants in various areas of practice.
The Academy was founded in 2004 by a group of trial lawyers who wanted to create a statewide bar association that would provide high-quality continuing legal education programs, advocate for the rights of litigants and trial lawyers, and foster collegiality and professionalism among its members.
Since then, the Academy has grown to become the largest and most active trial lawyer associations in New York, offering free CLE courses to its members on a range of topics, such as ethics, evidence, damages, medical records, electronic evidence, and more. The Academy also hosts annual events, such as the Membership Reception, Lobby Day, and Family Fun Day where members can network and celebrate achievements.
The Academy’s membership is diverse and inclusive, reflecting New York’s legal community. The Academy welcomes trial lawyers from all backgrounds, practice areas, and experience levels, as well as law students and paralegals.
The Academy’s mission is not only to serve its members, but also to serve the public interest by promoting access to justice.
